Linear vs. Tactile:

If you’re thinking about buying a mechanical keyboard, consider whether you’re interested in linear keystrokes (in which the key drops with no change in force) or tactile keystrokes (in which the key offers the most resistance about mid-way through the stroke). Some users like the resistance that tactile keys provide. Another thing to keep in mind: aside from certain mechanical keyboards designed to be quiet, mechanical keyboards typically make loud, clicking noises as you type. That’s a feature to some users—and a drawback to others.
