If you are not able to open your local drive because when you go to it the computer says choose a program to open this file and it shows you a list of programs here is what you can do to fix it.

1. Go to Start menu, choose Run...
2. From the dialog box that appears, type:

regsvr32 /i shell32.dll

3. Press Ok.

A message will inform you that DllRegisterServer and DllInstall in shell32.dll succeeded.

Press OK to dismiss the message.
