Assigning A Keystroke To Mute JAWS
- Bring up your keyboard manager with insert+8 on the number row.
- Make sure you are focused on the default file.
- Tab once in to the list of available functions.
- Then start typing mute until you hear mute synthesizer, which will have no keystroke, assigned.
- Press control A and give it what ever keystroke your heart desires.
- Save your changes when you close out the keyboard manager.
Note that this is a toggle kind of thing, and that JAWS will only remain muted so long as you're focused on the current Window.
