CREATING MULTIPLE POP ACCOUNTS IN EUDORA 5.0.2

1. Copy the initialization file (eudora.ini) to the clipboard by pressing Control-c after highlighting the file. If you installed Eudora into the default folder, the eudora.ini file is located in the folder listed below.

C:\Program Files\Qualcomm\Eudora Pro

2. Locate or create the folder where you would like to create the new pop account. For example, if you want to set up a new email pop account for your son John Doe, you may want to create a new folder and name it John Doe.

3. Select the located or newly created folder, and press enter to go into that folder.

4. Paste the eudora.ini file into the desired folder by pressing Control-v.

5. Create a shortcut for the new John Doe pop account by doing the following.

A. Focus on the desktop by pressing Insert-F6, or Window ke-d, or Window key-m.

B. Locate any icon on the desktop, and then make sure that it is unselected. If the icon is selected, press Control-spacebar to unselect it.

C. Open the context menu by pressing the applications key, or by pressing Shift-F10.

D. Cursor down to New and press enter.

E. Cursor down to Shortcut and press enter. You will be placed in an edit field where you can type the path.

F. Type the following path, including the quotes. The following statement assumes that you have installed Eudora into the default folder, and that you created John Doe as your new personality folder.

"C:\Program Files\Qualcomm\Eudora Pro\eudora.exe" "c:\John Doe\eudora.ini"

G. After you have typed the path, press enter, and then type the name you want to assign to the shortcut and press enter. For example, you may want to name the shortcut John Doe's email.

6. From the desktop, press enter on the newly created icon, and Eudora will be opened.

7. Go into the options by pressing Alt-t, and then o, and then configure the email settings for the new personality. That is, you will need to put in the pop account, the smpt server, the return address, etc. Press okay when you have completed configuring the settings.

8. You have now successfully created a new pop account, and you can do this for as many email addresses as you wish.
