IMPORTANT NOTE: These instructions for the installation of Nero burning rom were written under the following conditions.
E-machine computer with no monitor, running Windows XP Home edition, with service pack 2.
256mb ram, 80gb hard drive, and Jaws version 4.51.
No 2 computers are alike, and different versions of Jaws may present the dialogues differently.
It should also be noted that this version of Nero, may not support the cdrw drive in the machine to which Nero is being installed.

Installing Nero on Windows XP Home.

1. Make sure all other programs , with the exception of Jaws are shutdown, before attempting to install any program.
2. Insert the program cd into the cd drive, and close the drawer.
3. An autorun installer dialogue will open, but may not be read by Jaws, so use insert T to read the title bar, it should say, "Ahead Installer".
4. Now, use insert 8, on the numeric keypad to read the current line, it should say, "Nero Button".
5. Route Jaws to PC, and then press insert 5 on the numeric keypad, and it should also say, "nero button". If it does not, then you will need to move the Jaws cursor around until you have this button highlighted.
6. Once you are on the, "nero button", then press the left mouse button. This will open the install shield wizard.
7. Now return to the PC cursor, and the current line should say, "next button". Press enter, and the install dialogue will continue.
8. The next dialogue will be the license agreement, and this can be read with the PC, or Jaws cursor. You may need to tab until you hear Jaws say, "edit", to read the license agreement with the up and down arrow keys. after you have read the license agreement, tab once and there will be 2 radio buttons to either decline, or accept the agreement. down arrow once to select the accept button, and then tab once to the next button, and press enter.
9. When this dialogue opens you will be in the user name edit field, so you will need to tab until you come to the serial number edit field. each field holds 4 characters, so you will have to enter each group of numbers manually. after you enter the first group of numbers the form will automatically index to the next field to be fillled in. Continue until all fields are filled in. When you are finished, tab until you come to the first serial number field,now you can review each field to make sure your entries are correct, by tabbing to each field to read the number. Eventually you will come back to the user name field, so type the user name and then tab once.
10. this is an edit field for an organization, so just type, "none", and then tab once to the next button and press enter.
11. this is the setup installation dialogue, and you will be sitting on the next button, so tab to hear the setup choices.
12. there are 3 radio buttons in this dialogue, and by default typical is selected, so you can use the up and down arrow keys to see the other choices. Typical is what I would recommend.
13. after making your selection, tabb to the next button and press enter.
14. when this dialogue opens you will be sitting on the install button. If you are satisfied with your previous selections then just press enter to install, or tab to the back button and press enter to make any changes.
15. The installation process will begin, and Jaws will probably not say anything, but this is normal.
16. When installation has finished, you will be returned to the screen you started out with. check the title bar at this point, to verify where you are.
17. Once more, route Jaws to PC, and look for the exit button, and then press the left mouse button to activate it.
18. this will open the last dialogue, promptinng you to restart your computer. You can't use the program until you do, so now is a good time to get this done. just press enter on the okay button. You are done.

Note:
It is recommended that after installing a new application, you should run disk defragmenter. This will help prevent excess fragmentation, and keep your system at peak performance.
