shdoclc.exe is the program that has focus when a download Is in progress. These scripts allow you to read the important Information on the screen with a single keystroke. The Script will read the percentage that has been completed of your download. The total time that your download is expected to take, also The total size of the file being downloaded. Lastly the speed of your download. These scripts are Only designed to be used while the download is in progress. If you hit the key to read what's going on before you actually start the download JAWS will say nothing to report yet.

The keystroke is the letter S by itself, insert + h is the help command. Since I wrote these scripts some years ago they have needed to be recompiled to make them compatible with the newer versions of JAWS. They are at present compiled with JAWS version 8.0. If you are using an earlier version then you may receive a compatibility error. If that happens just hit insert+F2 and arrow down to the script manager. Hit enter and when the source Script file loads hit control+S to recompile them. It will only take a second to do. JAWS will say compile complete, then hit alt+F4. Your error shouldn't occur again. Please review the file installing scripts to learn where exactly they need to go in order to work properly. Note: these scripts do not work with IE 7.0.
